Required Supplies:

Fabric (all fabrics must be non-fray. Craft felt or wool felt recommended):

  • Body: 1/8 yard OR one 8”x8” (20cmx20cm) scrap

  • Wings/Tail: 1/8 yard OR one 8”x8” (20cmx20cm) scrap

  • Accents: 1/8 yard OR one 5”x5” scrap (13cmx13cm) scrap

  • Beak: 2”x2” (5cmx5cm) scrap

Notions:

  • 2 black seed beads, size 2/0 (6mm diameter), or small buttons for eyes

  • Unique Stitch fabric glue or other permanent fabric glue

  • Hand embroidery needles

  • Fiber filling, e.g. Poly Fil, batting scraps.

  • If making a pincushion: pincushion filling (ground walnut shells, poly pellets, etc.), two 5”x 5” (13cm x 13cm) squares of muslin

Thread:

  • Embroidery floss that matches your Body Fabric

  • Black embroidery floss or black hand sewing thread for adding eyes

  • If hand-sewing your wings, tail, and optional accents: embroidery floss that matches your wings/tail and accent fabrics

  • If machine sewing your wings, tail, and optional accents: machine sewing thread that matches your body fabric, and machine sewing thread that coordinates with your wings/tail and optional accent fabrics
